---Breon---reflective summary--I never knew a ship had that much oil. But I think some of the animals died from that oil spill because when the oil gets on there bodies it can soak through there skin and go into there respiratory system. I wonder what happened to ship to cause that oil spill.

The spill followed a blowout that caused an explosion on the deepwater horizon offshore drilling rig, which then sank off the coast of Louisiana. Eleven rig workers are missing and presumed dead; the explosion also injured 17 others. The oil spill covers at least 2,500 square miles, which isn’t good.

Gulf of Mexico oil spill
The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has almost polluted the whole entire Gulf of Mexico. It was about 210,000 gallons of oil that almost covered most of the Gulf, this may pollute the whole gulf and could endanger all the animals that live in the habitat. This oil spill i think that it is one of the worst oil spills that i have heard of, it makes me think that if many people that carry oil across sea and they spill it it could affect the whole entire world!
Reflective Summary-Arbreon Thompson-I Wonder what made the ship crash and spill the oil. I think that the oil will kill some of the animals in the gulf,I also think it will effect people because they will fish in the gulf and they might get a fish that has swam through the oil.

I believe that because of the oil spill we will have many problems such as dying animals, polluted water, and ect. The oil spill has also wasted the oil that we need for gas and such other things. Because of the oil spill our animals could start to mutate. It is weird but many species could become poisonous. I believe that the oil spill has caused many problems so far and will continue to cause even more.

Since the oil rig explosion, oil has seeped out closer than scientists expected. On April twentieth, there was an oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Days passed and the oil leak spread more than scientists thought. On April twenty-fourth, their robotic monitor devices saw that the well was leaking in two places. They worked their hardest to shut off the well, and they were unable to. The spill eventually was ten times bigger than scientists estimated.
I think that if they can’t stop it, then it’s going to be a big problem. It’s going to affect the animals living in the Gulf. People can’t eat the fish because they’re contaminated. It wouldn’t be possible to stop everyone from fishing for profit, though.

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico; will probably make it really dangerous, not just for the fish but, also for the humans in the area; Like in South Padre Island TX,there is no doubt that they are smelling the oil; Which burns your nostril hair,and damages your brain cells and for anybody that tries to swim in the Gulf of Mexico

Six days later the oil spill started to leak 5 times faster, and Deeper. Heavy winds drive the spreading oil spill closer to the Louisiana coast. The spill washes into fragile wetlands and made the lands around rough and rigged. President Obama visits and calls the spill a “potentially unprecedented environmental disaster.” Weather predictors and announcers say that the weather will hold of the oil spill to get on the land and kill the enviroment for several more days. The oil spill covers at least 3,000 to 4,000 square miles.

ReplyDeleteWhat is going on is that the oil spill is moving east of the Gulf of Mexico. It might reach the tip of Venice and get impacted by the oil. It impacted Chandelier Island. My conclusion is that it might keep spreading and it will kill most of our fish and sharks. There were about 210,000 gallons of oil that were spilled per day and has polluted the Gulf of Mexico.
I fell that its not good for our environment we are already killing it with our factories polluting our skies.

ReplyDeleteThe oil spill has affected the ocean and the animals that live in it a lot. I think it’s sad and that people should be more careful. The environment was home to many living organisms. 210,000 gallons everyday is a lot, and has affected the Gulf of Mexico greatly. It’s killing a lot of animals and affecting the way that they survive. I think its hurting the natural world, and people need to start helping out to clean up and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

ReplyDeleteThere have been a lot of oil spills. One of them happened in the Gulf of Mexico. This oil spill has affected a lot of animals that live in the oceans. It destroys their habitats and it makes it harder for them to breath. Then most of the fish and other sea creatures start to die. So it makes it even more difficult for other animals to find food. So then they start to die and it takes a long time to find other habitats. It kills the reefs and plants start to die too.
All these organisms need to find other places to live. They depend on other animals to get food. Like turtles, they have mobile homes; but if they don’t get the food they need they die. The predator that eats the turtle will die too. This occurs because of the loss of animals. Everyone in this ecosystem relies on other animals. People need to start thinking of a better way to fix this. Do they not realize that what they are doing is wrong? Hurting sea creatures and also land creatures. The water oil that has been running off to an island can cause death to land creatures.

OIL SPILL IN GULF OF MEXICO
ReplyDeleteAn explosion and fire on a drilling rig on April 20 left 11 workers missing and presumed dead. The rig sank two days later about 50 miles off the Louisiana coast. I think this is going to be really bad because this oil spill is going to disrupt the natural food cycle for all species of fish. The species rely on another species so it going to kill a lot of fish. All plans of getting this fixed has been so far unsuccessful. The president has been notified. This is the worst oil spill in the United States. What I personally think is that now the public is unsafe to swim in it. Were losing money fast and this is a pretty serious problem. Also we need to find a solution fast.

I think that they everyone needs to help stop it because it can be dangerous. They need to do something now because people aren’t really able to fish anymore. I feel sorry for the animals that live in the Gulf of Mexico. Hearing that the Oil Spill destroyed many animal lives, made me sad. This also destroyed our population of fish in the Gulf of Mexico. Now what will they do to help fresh sea water to maintain.
“Let’s hope that the Government will do something about this”. Animals will and can continue swimming in these conditions after it has been dis-contaminated (or if it ever does). I LOVE fish and shrimp so we should do a big deed and be a big part of helping to clean the water.
